By Western blot, PA1-9591 detects 42 kDa and 44 kDa proteins representing Phospho-Erk1/2 MAP Kinase.
The immunogen is a phosphorylated peptide (pT202-E-pY204) based on human Erk1/2 MAP Kinase.
Target Information
ERK1 and ERK2 are widely expressed kinases involved in the regulation of meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells.
These kinases are activated by various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, viral infections, and ligands for G protein-coupled receptors.
Upon activation, ERK1/2 phosphorylate cytoplasmic targets or translocate to the nucleus to activate transcription factors such as c-Fos and Elk-1.
