Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with 0.1 mL of deionized water (or equivalent). For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This antibody is specific for human IL-17F protein. A BLAST analysis suggests 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with IL-17F from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family, produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils.
It is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in epithelial and endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and eosinophils.
IL-17F may be secreted as a homodimer or heterodimer with IL-17A, acting via IL-17R to recruit monocytes and neutrophils.
It stimulates TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 production and is associated with chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
IL-17F inhibits angiogenesis and induces endothelial cells to produce IL2, TGFB1/TGFB, and MCP-1.
