Product Specific Information

Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with 0.1 mL of deionized water (or equivalent). For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is specific for human IL-17F protein. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with IL-17F from human sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with IL-17F from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family, produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils. It is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in epithelial and endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and eosinophils. IL-17F may form homodimers or heterodimers with IL-17A, binding to IL-17R to recruit monocytes and neutrophils through chemokine production. It also stimulates TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 production and is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis. IL-17F inhibits endothelial angiogenesis and induces IL2, TGFB1/TGFB, and MCP-1 production.
