Product Specific Information

Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with 0.1 mL of deionized water (or equivalent).
For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is specific for human IL-17A protein. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with IL-17A from human sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with IL-17A from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses in cell lines and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of 136 amino acids and is a member of the IL-17 family (IL-17A–IL-17F).
It signals through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217) and enhances expression of ICAM-1 in human fibroblasts.
Human IL-17A stimulates epithelial, endothelial, or fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2, and supports proliferation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors, inducing maturation into neutrophils.
IL-17A regulates NF-κB and MAPK activities, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 (PTGS2) expression, and enhances nitric oxide production.
