Target Information
MLH1 is a DNA mismatch repair protein essential for maintaining genetic integrity. Defects in mismatch repair pathways are linked to microsatellite instability (MSI) and human carcinogenesis. Mutations in mismatch repair genes, including MLH1, are associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPC). MSH2 is involved in recognizing mismatched nucleotides, and MLH1 forms a heterodimer with PMSH to facilitate subsequent repair steps.
