Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides. They range in molecular weight between approximately 40 kDa and 68 kDa and isoelectric pH between 4.9 and 7.8.
Each cytokeratin subtype is characteristic of specific epithelial types and their differentiation state. Cytokeratin expression patterns are valuable for distinguishing epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies are widely used in tumor differential diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometric assays.
