Antibody detects endogenous levels of NF-kB p65 only when phosphorylated at Serine 276.
Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA (v-rel avian reticuloendotheliosis viral oncogene homolog A), it belongs to the Rel family of proteins. NF-kB p65 forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-kB (Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells). TNF alpha binding to its receptor activates IKK, which phosphorylates I kB, leading to proteasomal degradation of I kB. NF-kB p65 plays a key role in transcription of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
