Target Information
Cyclins are key regulatory proteins in eukaryotic cell cycle control. Cyclin A accumulates prior to cyclin B, participating in S phase regulation and associating with cyclin-dependent kinase-2 (Cdk2). Cyclin A also interacts with transformation-related proteins such as E1A, DRTF1, E2F, and retinoblastoma protein (p110).
Cyclin A1, a second form highly expressed in germ cells, shares high homology with Xenopus cyclin A1 and can associate with Cdk2, p39, and Cdc2 p34.
