Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Alpha actinins belong to the spectrin gene superfamily, a diverse group of cytoskeletal proteins including alpha/beta spectrins and dystrophins.
Alpha actinin is an actin-binding protein with multiple roles across cell types:
- In nonmuscle cells: localized along microfilament bundles and adherens-type junctions, binding actin to the membrane.
- In muscle cells (skeletal, cardiac, smooth): localized to the Z-disc and dense bodies, anchoring myofibrillar actin filaments.
