Product Specific Information

  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

G protein-coupled receptor GPR49 (LGR5) is expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, placenta, and spinal cord. ESTs have been isolated from normal human brain (amygdala), embryo, and placenta libraries, as well as from germ cell, uterus, and brain libraries.

G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) represent one of the largest families of signaling molecules, with over a thousand predicted members. All GPCRs share a structural motif of seven membrane-spanning helices and exist in both active and inactive states. Ligand binding induces conformational changes that lead to G-protein signaling and downstream effects. Negative regulation mechanisms of GPCRs are also critical for cellular physiology and pharmacological research. Several GPCR-targeted drugs, such as Zyprexa and Claritin, have achieved significant clinical and commercial success.
