Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
KIT (c-KIT) is a proto-oncogene and a type 3 transmembrane receptor for mast cell growth factor (MGF, also known as stem cell factor). It regulates the growth and activation of various hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells.
Mutations in KIT are associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors, mast cell disease, acute myelogenous leukemia, and piebaldism.
Upon ligand binding, c-KIT dimerizes, activating autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues and downstream signaling pathways such as Ras/ERK, PI3K, PLC-γ, and JAK/STAT.
KIT receptor activation is essential for hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, and gametogenesis.
