Product Specific Information
The WM15 antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of the human CD13 cell surface glycoprotein, a 150 kDa molecule expressed on granulocytes, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and myeloid progenitors.
Target Information
CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types. It functions as a metalloprotease that removes neutral amino acids from small peptides, thereby modulating bioactive peptide activity. CD13 plays roles in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, inflammatory responses, intercellular contact regulation, cell motility, and vascularization. It is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells, with expression linked to poor carcinoma prognosis and protection of leukemic cells against apoptosis. CD13 also serves as an aminopeptidase enzyme and alpha receptor for coronavirus.
