Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human HB-EGF. The anti-Human HB-EGF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of Human HB-EGF by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When paired with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human HB-EGF (500-P329) as a capture antibody, it enables detection of 2000–4000 pg/mL of recombinant Human HB-EGF.

Western Blot:
For detection of Human HB-EGF, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with compatible detection reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human HB-EGF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

HBEGF is a growth factor that acts through EGFR, ERBB2, and ERBB4. It is essential for normal cardiac valve formation and heart function, promotes smooth muscle cell proliferation, and may be involved in macrophage-mediated proliferation. It is mitogenic for fibroblasts but not endothelial cells, binds EGFR with higher affinity than EGF, and is a potent mitogen for smooth muscle cells. It also serves as a diphtheria toxin receptor.
