This antibody detects endogenous levels of total LGP2.
Target Information
Anti-viral innate immune responses are triggered by pathogen-associated molecular patterns such as intracellular nucleic acids resulting from viral infections. Toll-like receptors (TLR3, 7, 8, and 9) are expressed in immune cells and detect foreign nucleic acids as pattern recognition receptors. Other cytoplasmic proteins like RIG-1 and MDA5, members of the CARD-helicase family, play similar roles. LGP2, a related protein lacking a CARD domain, is believed to function as a negative-feedback regulator of intracellular antiviral signaling. At least four isoforms of LGP2 are known to exist.
