Target Information
Stem cells offer therapeutic potential for many diseases. In diabetes research, stem cells may be used to generate beta cells ex vivo for potential transplantation and treatment of Type I diabetes. To achieve this, stem cells must be isolated, expanded, and differentiated toward the beta cell lineage. Proper markers targeting cell surface molecules on developing and mature pancreatic cells are essential for such studies.
