Target Information

NF-κB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and microbial products. It regulates cellular processes including growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50), a 50 kDa subunit of NF-κB, is synthesized as a p105 precursor with an N-terminal RHD region containing nuclear localization, DNA-binding, and dimerization domains.
NFKB1 (p50) forms homo- or heterodimers (with p65) to create functional NF-κB complexes, directing nuclear translocation and DNA binding.
NF-κB has been implicated in AIDS, cancer metastasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
