Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous LIMK2 protein at a molecular weight of approximately 72 kDa.
Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
LIMK2 is a serine/threonine kinase involved in regulating actin cytoskeletal dynamics through phosphorylation of cofilin. It plays roles in brain development and cytoskeletal reorganization. LIMK2, along with LIMK1, contains two N-terminal LIM motifs and a C-terminal kinase domain. The protein is phosphorylated and activated by ROCK, a downstream effector of Rho, leading to inhibition of cofilin-mediated actin depolymerization. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms of LIMK2 have been identified.
