Target Information
The MEF2A protein belongs to the structural maintenance of chromosomes (SMC) family, which plays critical roles in chromosome structural changes.
SMC proteins are involved in proper condensation and segregation of mitotic chromosomes.
Four human SMC proteins form two distinct heterodimeric complexes in the cell:
- hCAP-C/hCAP-E complex
- hSMC1/hSMC3 complex
