Product Specific Information

MA5-15852 targets ApoE in indirect ELISA, FACS, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human ApoE expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15852 detects ApoE with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 36 kDa.

Target Information

Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) is a key protein in plasma lipid metabolism and a component of various lipoprotein-lipid particles. It is synthesized in the liver, brain, spleen, and kidney, with high concentrations in interstitial fluids. ApoE facilitates cholesterol transport between cells and contributes to the formation of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) and chylomicrons.
The ApoE gene is located on chromosome 19 at position 19q13.2.
