Target Information
CHEK1 (CHK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase involved in preventing replication when DNA integrity is compromised. CHK1 acts as a key mediator in the DNA damage-induced checkpoint network and ensures genomic integrity under genotoxic stress. Inhibition of CHK1 can lead to mitotic catastrophe and apoptosis in p53-deficient cancer cells, making CHK1 an attractive therapeutic target for cancer treatment, especially since approximately 50% of all human cancers are p53-deficient.
