Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The protein encoded by the TRAF1 gene is a member of the TNF receptor (TNFR)-associated factor (TRAF) protein family. TRAF proteins mediate signal transduction from various receptors of the TNFR superfamily.
TRAF1 and TRAF2 form a heterodimeric complex required for TNF-alpha-mediated activation of MAPK8/JNK and NF-kappaB. This complex also interacts with inhibitor-of-apoptosis proteins (IAPs), mediating anti-apoptotic signals from TNF receptors.
Expression of TRAF1 can be induced by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). EBV latent membrane protein 1 (LMP1) interacts with TRAF proteins, linking LMP1-mediated B lymphocyte transformation to TNFR signal transduction.
Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
