Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
Target Information
The TRAF1 gene encodes a member of the TNF receptor-associated factor (TRAF) protein family. TRAF proteins mediate signal transduction from receptors of the TNFR superfamily.
TRAF1 and TRAF2 form a heterodimeric complex required for TNF-alpha-mediated activation of MAPK8/JNK and NF-kappaB.
This complex also interacts with inhibitor-of-apoptosis proteins (IAPs), mediating anti-apoptotic signals from TNF receptors.
Expression of TRAF1 can be induced by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and EBV membrane protein 1 (LMP1) interacts with TRAF1 and other TRAF proteins, linking LMP1-mediated B lymphocyte transformation to TNFR signaling.
Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
