Product Specific Information

Description:
The MAR-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilon Receptor I alpha subunit (FcεRIα), an IgE-binding subunit lacking signal-transducing ability. FcεRIα is expressed on mast and basophil cells and is upregulated by the presence of IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex with one beta and two gamma subunits, which contain ITAM motifs. The FcεRI complex is critical for IgE-mediated allergic reactions.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of the mast cell line MC/9. Recommended ≤0.125 µg per test (100 µL volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance.

Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 660 nm; Laser: Red Laser.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

FceR1 (FcεRIα):
A subunit of the high-affinity receptor for IgE, forming a tetrameric complex with one α, one β, and two γ subunits. The β and γ subunits mediate signal transduction. FcεRI plays a key role in allergic responses by coupling allergen-bound IgE with mast cells, triggering histamine and mediator release leading to inflammation typical of allergic disorders such as hay fever and asthma.
