Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Directed against human Pdcd4 protein. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Pdcd4 from human, mouse, rat, and Xenopus based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence.
Reacts with Pdcd4 protein that is either phosphorylated or non-phosphorylated at Ser457.
Target Information
Apoptosis (programmed cell death) is essential in development, tissue turnover, and tumor formation. PDCD4 is a tumor suppressor protein upregulated during apoptosis and lost in several carcinomas (breast, colon, lung, prostate).
It inhibits the helicase activity of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4A and the transactivation mediated by transcription factor AP-1.
Akt kinase regulates PDCD4 by phosphorylation, reducing its interference with AP-1 transactivation.
Two isoforms of PDCD4 are known.
