This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human DAXX protein.
BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with DAXX protein from human, mouse, and rat based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence.
Reactivity against homologues from other species is not known.

Target Information

The DAXX gene encodes a multifunctional protein localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. It interacts with various proteins such as:

• Apoptosis antigen Fas
• Centromere protein C
• Transcription factor E26 oncogene homolog 1 (ETS family)

In the nucleus, DAXX acts as a transcription repressor binding sumoylated transcription factors.
Its repression can be relieved by sequestration into promyelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies or nucleoli.
In the cytoplasm, DAXX may regulate apoptosis.
Localization and function are modulated by post-translational modifications including sumoylation, phosphorylation, and polyubiquitination.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants.
