Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-9. The anti-Murine IL-9-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Murine IL-9 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine IL-9 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. When used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine IL-9 (500-P59Bt) as a detection antibody, it enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-9.

Western Blot:
For detection of Murine IL-9 by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Murine IL-9 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin 9 (IL-9) is produced by activated T helper 2 (Th2) lymphocytes and regulates various cell types involved in Th2-associated asthma responses, including B and T lymphocytes, mast cells, eosinophils, and epithelial cells.
The mouse IL-9 cDNA encodes a 144 amino acid precursor protein with an 18 amino acid signal peptide, yielding a mature cysteine-rich protein (~14 kDa). Native mouse IL-9 is heavily glycosylated.
TGF-β is known to influence differentiation of IL-17-producing T helper cells and inducible regulatory T cells by reprogramming Th2 cells to secrete IL-9, promoting Th9 cell differentiation.
