Target Information
Methylation of DNA cytosine bases plays important roles in the regulation of gene transcription. It is estimated that 60–90% of cytosines in CpG dinucleotides are methylated. Increased methyl-CpG correlates with transcriptional silencing, especially in developmentally regulated genes.
