Target Information
FRAP1 (mTOR) is a serine/threonine kinase critical for cellular growth and proliferation. Dysregulation of the mTOR/PI3-kinase/AKT pathway is linked to various cancers. FRAP1 is also the target of rapamycin and its analogues, used as immunosuppressants and cancer therapeutics. Mutations in this gene cause Smith-Kingsmore syndrome.
