Target Information

POU5F1 (Oct-4) is a maternally expressed octamer-binding transcription factor critical in early embryonic development. It plays a key role in stem cell generation and maintenance. Expression of POU5F1 along with Sox2, Klf4, Lin28, and c-Myc enables the creation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from somatic cells, offering potential for regenerative medicine without viral vectors.
