Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD47 (integrin-associated protein, IAP) is a ubiquitously expressed cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein that interacts with integrins and regulates their functions. Engagement of CD47 by ligands or counter receptors modulates signaling pathways, including activation of heterotrimeric G proteins and intracellular calcium increase upon cell adhesion.
CD47 also serves as a receptor for the C-terminal domain of thrombospondin and may participate in membrane transport and signal transduction. It has broad tissue distribution and reduced expression on Rh erythrocytes. CD47 binds to CD172a (SIRPα), an inhibitory receptor on macrophages, preventing phagocytosis of CD47-positive cells. The CD47-CD172a system influences cell migration, B cell adhesion, T cell activation, chondrocyte mechanotransduction, and neuronal development, being abundant in synapse-rich regions of the brain and retina.
