Product Specific Information

The OX39 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha (IL-2Rα). CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineages as well as by activated mature T and B lymphocytes.
By itself, CD25 binds IL-2 with low affinity, but when associated with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain), it forms a high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex. CD25 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation.

The OX39 clone has been shown to deplete CD25+ cells in vivo.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry.
Applications Tested: Verified in flow cytometric analysis of rat splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

CD25 (IL2 receptor alpha chain / IL2RA) is a cytokine receptor subunit involved in T and B lymphocyte proliferation. The IL2 receptor complex consists of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG chains, forming a high-affinity receptor.
IL2 plays a key role as a growth and differentiation factor, and in regulating cell death. It stimulates B cell proliferation, enhances NK cell activity, and inhibits granulocyte macrophage colony formation.
Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin-2 receptor alpha deficiency, and knockout studies in mice suggest its role in immune regulation.
