This HM36 antibody recognizes mouse CD36 (scavenger receptor BIII).

Target Information

CD36 (scavenger receptor class B member 3) is expressed on macrophages, platelets, and adipocytes. It plays roles in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis, mediating uptake of oxidized LDL, fatty acids, and apoptotic cells.
It acts as a receptor for thrombospondin and collagen, and is involved in Plasmodium falciparum cytoadherence.
Mutations cause platelet glycoprotein deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist.
Associated diseases include Platelet Glycoprotein IV Deficiency and Coronary Heart Disease 7.
