Target Information
Tis7, also known as IFRD1, is a 442 amino acid membrane-associated, non-nuclear intracellular protein belonging to the IFRD family. It regulates gene activity in proliferative and differentiative pathways induced by NGF. Tis7 may act as an autocrine factor modulating ligand-induced signaling and enhancing adaptive responses by stimulating enterocyte differentiation. It functions as a negative regulator of transcriptional activity, repressing genes involved in myogenesis, muscle maintenance, and regeneration through a histone deacetylase-dependent mechanism.
