Target Information
MET (c-MET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation by its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways.
MET is involved in embryonic development processes such as gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, and kidney development. In adults, it plays roles in wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
MET has been associated with several cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it an important target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic testing.
