Target Information
Ubiquitin은 세포 내 단백질을 26S proteasome을 통해 분해하도록 표적화하는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 고도로 보존된 단백질입니다. 이 유전자는 N 말단에 ubiquitin, C 말단에 ribosomal protein S27a를 가지는 융합 단백질을 암호화합니다. 효모에서 발현될 때 단백질은 번역 후 처리되어 자유 ubiquitin 단량체와 ribosomal protein S27a를 생성합니다. Ribosomal protein S27a는 40S 리보솜 소단위의 구성 요소로, S27AE 계열에 속하며 C4-type zinc finger 도메인을 포함하고 세포질에 위치합니다. 또한 이 유전자에서 유래한 pseudogene이 존재합니다. Ribosomal protein L40 및 S30도 각각 ubiquitin 또는 ubiquitin-like 단백질과 융합된 형태로 합성됩니다.
