This peptide corresponds to 28 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human BRSK1.
PEP-0472 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20352.

Target Information

BRSK1 (SAD1) is a serine/threonine kinase and a UV-induced DNA damage checkpoint kinase. It is ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in the brain and testes. Similar to its yeast homolog, BRSK1 is involved in stress-induced cell cycle arrest. Overexpression leads to G2/M arrest in HeLa S2 cells, while reduced expression via siRNA partially abrogates UV-induced G2/M arrest, indicating its role in DNA damage checkpoint function.
BRSK1 and BRSK2 are required for mammalian neuronal polarization. While single mutants are viable, double-mutant mice die shortly after birth, showing neurons with uniformly sized neurites expressing both axonal and dendritic markers. At least two isoforms of BRSK1 are known.
