Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes before staining.
Target Information
The STAT5B protein is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. Upon stimulation by cytokines and growth factors, STAT proteins are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, form homo- or heterodimers, and translocate to the nucleus to function as transcription activators.
STAT5B mediates signaling triggered by ligands such as IL2, IL4, CSF1, and various growth hormones. It participates in biological processes including TCR signaling, apoptosis, mammary gland development, and liver gene expression regulation.
In some cases of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APLL), STAT5B has been found to fuse with the retinoic acid receptor-alpha (RARA) gene. Dysregulation of STAT5B-mediated pathways may contribute to APLL pathogenesis.
