Product Specific Information
In Western Blot analysis, a band is observed around 47 kDa (isoform B, containing the first 184 residues absent in isoform A).
Suggested positive controls: HeLa whole cell lysate and 3T3 L1 lysate.
Target Information
TIP47 is a cargo protein involved in trafficking of mannose-6-phosphate receptors (MPRs) between endosomes and the Golgi complex.
It interacts with cytoplasmic domains of both cation-independent and cation-dependent MPRs and is essential for endosome-to-Golgi transport.
TIP47 also binds directly to GTPase RAB9, increasing its affinity for cargo.
The protein has been localized in milk fat globule membranes of human and bovine origin and described as a placental protein.
Elevated TIP47 levels are found in circulation of cervix carcinoma patients, suggesting its role as a potential oncodevelopmental marker.
