The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
MRPL42 is a mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal protein encoded by nuclear genes and involved in mitochondrial protein synthesis. Mitochondrial ribosomes consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit, having approximately 75% protein to rRNA composition, unlike prokaryotic ribosomes. Mammalian mitoribosomes lack 5S rRNA and differ significantly in sequence and biochemical properties among species. The MRPL42 gene encodes a protein associated with both 28S and 39S subunits. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, and pseudogenes are found on chromosomes 4q, 6p, 6q, 7p, and 15q.
