Target Information
Mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM)은 핵 유전자로부터 발현되어 미토콘드리아로 이동하며, 미토콘드리아 DNA(mtDNA)의 유지 및 발현에 핵심적인 역할을 하는 단백질입니다. TFAM은 mtDNA의 복제와 전사를 조절하여 미토콘드리아 기능을 정상적으로 유지합니다.
LC3 interacting region (LIR) 모티프를 포함하여 LC3와 같은 오토파지 관련 단백질과 결합할 수 있으며, 이는 손상된 mtDNA 제거 및 염증 억제에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
TFAM의 발현 수준은 조직별로 다르며, 미토콘드리아 기능과 산화적 인산화(OXPHOS)에 영향을 미칩니다. TFAM의 이상은 신경퇴행성 질환 등 mtDNA 스트레스 관련 질환과 연관될 수 있습니다.
