Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody TB28-2 recognizes the kappa light chain of human immunoglobulin (~22 kDa), composed of one variable and one constant region. Two kappa chains together with heavy chains form the complete Ig structure. Ig kappa expression is found on more than half of B lymphocytes.

Target Information

Immunoglobulins consist of two heavy and two light chains (kappa, lambda; MW ~22.5 kDa). Kappa and lambda differ by the antigenic properties of their constant region, with a typical ratio of 70:30. Antibodies to kappa light chain are used for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, as well as determining clonality in lymphoid infiltrates.
