Product Specific Information

MA5-17145 targets PCNA in indirect ELISA, FACS, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human PCNA (amino acids 53–196) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17145 detects PCNA with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 28.7 kDa.

Target Information

PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen) is essential for DNA replication and participates in DNA excision and mismatch repair pathways.
It binds to CDK inhibitor p21, endonucleases Fen1 and XPG, and DNA cytosine 5-methyltransferase (MCMT).
PCNA serves as a marker of proliferating cells and helps assess tumor proliferation status.
It is localized in the nucleus, functions as a cofactor of DNA polymerase delta, and forms a homotrimer to enhance leading strand synthesis during replication.
Upon DNA damage, PCNA undergoes ubiquitination and participates in the RAD6-dependent DNA repair pathway.
Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified, and pseudogenes exist on chromosome 4 and the X chromosome.
