Product Specific Information
The XMG1.2 antibody reacts specifically with mouse interferon (IFN) gamma, a 20 kDa cytokine produced by activated T, B, and NK cells. It is a neutralizing antibody that inhibits proliferation of normal and transformed cells in synergy with TNF alpha.
Reported for use in intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis. Tested using stimulated mouse splenocytes and Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00). Recommended usage ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume).
Brilliant Ultra Violet™ 805 (BUV805) emits at 797 nm and is intended for cytometers with an ultraviolet (355 nm) laser. Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (SB-4401) or Brilliant Stain Buffer (00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.
Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and samples from light.
Fixation: Samples may be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in IC Fixation Buffer (00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (00-5333).
Methanol Compatibility: Compatible with short-term methanol fixation (<1 hour).
Excitation: 355 nm; Emission: 797 nm; Laser: Ultraviolet.

Target Information
IFN gamma (Interferon gamma, Type II interferon) is a macrophage activation factor produced by T-lymphocytes and NK cells. It is a glycoprotein homodimer (~45 kDa) with antiviral, antiproliferative, and immunomodulatory functions. Human IFN gamma does not cross-react with mouse IFN gamma. It regulates cytokine expression and activates the JAK-STAT pathway via IFN gamma receptor I and II. Mutations in the IFN gamma gene are associated with aplastic anemia.
