HLA-class I 주요 조직적합복합체(MHC) 항원은 핵을 가진 세포 표면에 존재하는 막관통형 당단백질로, β2-microglobulin과 비공유 결합 형태로 존재함. 이들은 세포독성 T세포에 의해 인식되는 항원을 운반하여 항바이러스 및 항종양 방어에 중요한 역할을 함. 인간의 HLA-class I 항원은 HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C 분자로 구성됨.
