Target Information
ADAMTS-1 is a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif) protein family. Members share several distinct protein modules, including a propeptide region, metalloproteinase domain, disintegrin-like domain, and thrombospondin type 1 (TS) motif.
The encoded protein contains two disintegrin loops and three C-terminal TS motifs, exhibiting anti-angiogenic activity. Expression of this gene may be associated with inflammatory processes and cancer cachexia. It is likely necessary for normal growth, fertility, and organ morphology and function.
