Target Information

GATA2 (GATA binding protein 2) belongs to the GATA family of transcription factors. GATA proteins play key roles in signaling pathways controlling proliferation and differentiation of erythroid progenitor cells.
There are six transcription factors in the GATA family: GATA1 to GATA6.
GATA2 acts as a transcriptional activator regulating endothelin-1 gene expression in endothelial cells and is involved in differentiation of various tissue types (uro-genital and nervous) during embryogenesis.
