While functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitope sites on the target and providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets—each Superclonal™ antibody has a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, enabling consistent lot-to-lot production and eliminating biological variability.

Target Information
IL-23 is a heterodimeric cytokine composed of the p40 subunit of IL-12 disulfide-linked with a p19 protein. The p19 subunit alone is biologically inactive. IL-23 interacts with IL-12Rβ1 and an additional receptor subunit, IL-23R, containing a STAT4-binding domain.
IL-23 is secreted by activated dendritic cells in both mice and humans. In mice, IL-23 differs functionally from IL-12—it does not induce significant IFN-γ production but stimulates strong proliferation of memory T cells and promotes IL-17 production. In humans, IL-23 induces proliferation of memory T cells and moderate IFN-γ production compared to IL-12.
