Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The ubiquitin (Ub) pathway involves three enzymatic steps that mediate the conjugation of Ub and Ub-like molecules to specific protein substrates.

1. Activation: The Ub C-terminus is activated by an E1 enzyme in an ATP-dependent manner.
2. Conjugation: The activated Ub is transferred to an E2 enzyme (Ub-conjugating enzyme).
3. Ligation: The E3 ligase catalyzes the transfer of Ub from E2 to the target protein substrate.

UBE2E3 (also known as UBCH9) is an E2 enzyme that catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins. It plays a role in regulating transepithelial sodium transport in renal cells and may be involved in cell growth arrest.
UBE2E3 shuttles between the cytoplasm and nucleus in an IPO11-dependent manner, is ubiquitously expressed at low levels, and is highly expressed in skeletal muscle.
