Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a key role in signal transduction from transmembrane receptors and in transformation by oncogene tyrosine kinases. It is a primary mechanism of signal transduction during mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation. Antibodies specific to phosphorylated tyrosine residues are essential tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and their associated biochemical pathways. The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical assays where secondary antibody use may complicate detection.
