Product Specific Information

Clone 1H7 recognizes an epitope in the alpha subunit of CD221 (IGF1R), demonstrated by Western blotting. It partially blocks IGF-I and IGF-II binding to CD221.
For IHC applications, protein digestion (trypsin or pronase) is required on paraffin sections. Suggested positive controls include pancreas or placenta.
For flow cytometry, use 10 µL of the working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
This antibody is low-endotoxin (<0.01 EU/µg) and preservative-free.

Target Information

IGF1R (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 Receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase activated by IGF-1 and IGF-2, implicated in various cancers.
The protein is a tetramer with two alpha and two beta subunits. The alpha subunits bind IGF-1 with higher affinity than IGF-2, triggering autophosphorylation at residues 1134, 1135, and 1136.
Activated IGF1R phosphorylates downstream substrates, leading to activation of RAS, RAF, ERK, p38, and JNK pathways, which promote cell proliferation.
